I haven’t been writing much on this blog during 2014. That’s for sure. But I still want to take a moment and write a couple of lines about what I’ve been up to. Even if only a few words have been published, stuff has happened.
Konferences and meetups
During the year we have organized 6 WordPress Meetups here in Arvika. We’re usually the same small group but we have a lot of fun.
I’ve also managed to attend more WordCamps than previous years. I went to:
In Norway, Norrköping and Europe we (Krokedil) where one of the sponsors. That felt great and we’re looking forward to do it again during 2015.
In Norrköping I gave my first WordCamp presentation – E-handel med WordPress. It went okay, but I can definitely do better. I’m hoping to improve this skill during 2015.
In October I attended MicroConf Europe in Prague, a conference focused on self-funded startups and single founder software companies. Very inspiring and quite interesting to go to a conference similar to a WordCamp but at the same time outside the WP bubble.
At Krokedil we’re now a five people company. A little bit over a year ago it was just me and Andreas, but since then Victor Nyberg has joined us as a developer, Karin Högefjord (yes, my wife) as an office manager and Slobodan Manic as developer/support technician. This has of course meant a big change for us, but it has been a very exciting change and I really look forward to see what we will accomplish in 2015.
Besides the fact that I like going to WordCamps and get to learn from other developers and entrepreneurs, I also like to meet and talk to people. The WordPress community is a great and welcoming community and this year I’ve meet a lot of new friends. To mention names will most certainly mean that I’ll forget some of you but (among others) it was great to meet and get to know Andrey, Aloisia, Caspar, Jenny, Kristof, Miloš & Patricia.
I hope I get the opportunity to meet you during 2015 on a meetup, a WordCamp or a similar geek conference around the world.
Have a great 2015!
